EOS Shave Cream

About a month or so ago I was doing my usual blogger beauty reads and came across a review of another EOS product, the Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream.  It had amazing reviews.  I am typically the type of person that just buys whatever shave gel/cream that is on sale, they are all usually the same to me. So I figured, maybe I should try this brand out and see if it was really as awesome as they made it sound!
I picked up the eos shave cream in pomegranate raspberry.
According to eos's website:
Can a shave cream make you smile? We think so. That’s why we invented this one. It’s made with natural aloe, oat, shea butter and antioxidant vitamins E and C to leave your skin looking radiantly healthy. This non-foaming cream boosts skin’s moisture level and keeps it smooth long after you’re done shaving. It’s so moisturizing, you can shave wet or dry. And eos provides a closer shave, even helping to prevent those little razor bumps. Who knows? You might even look forward to shaving.
  • So moisturizing, you can shave wet or dry, leaving skin soft and smooth.
  • Non-foaming cream enriched with natural aloe, oat, and shea butter soothes while boosting skin's moisture level.
  • Antioxidant vitamins E & C help skin look radiantly healthy.
  • Comes in a soft-touch recyclable bottle that won't leave a rust ring in your tub.
  • Paraben-free.
The product comes in a softer plastic container, instead of one of those metal cans, which means you won't get any of those weird rust rings in your tub/shower.
My favorite part of the packing:

The pump dispenser!!! I don't know why I like this so much, maybe it because it's easier to control how much product you can get.  Either way, I'm a fan!
I'm also a fan of the consistency of the shave cream.  It literally feels like a lotion instead of a weird foamy substance.
I have noticed that using this product I get a much closer shave, which means I don't have to shave everyday and since it is so moisturizing I have to put lotion on a whole lot less.
There are 6 different fragrances that are available for this product (Pomegranate Raspberry, Lavender Jasmine, Island Blue, Cucumber Melon, Vanilla Bliss, and Fragrance Free). At the Walgreen's I purchased from only three of the six fragrances were available. I believe I paid $3.99 for this and while that it more expensive than your typical shave gel/cream I can tell you it is WELL worth the extra money! I love this stuff!

Have you ladies ever used this product? What did you think? Were you able to find the Island Blue, Cucumber Melon, or Fragrance Free products?

Urban Decay!

A few weeks ago Urban Decay was having a sale, they had all of their loose pigments marked down to $1!!! I don't know if you know this or not, but they usually are $20.00 a pop! Um hello, can we say awesome? I have been dying to try them so this was the perfect opportunity to do so! I think they  may be phasing them out of their line.  I just happened to check to the website and it looks like they only have 3 of the shades in stock now.  BOO!
Anyway, let's take a peak and see what I picked up during this awesome sale!
Here is my box of goodies, after I had unpackaged all of it, makes it even more awesome is BUBBLE WRAP!!!
Anyway, before I get to the pigments I will show the other item that I decided to pick up.  I noticed that they had their Clean & Sober Makeup remover marked down to $3. I couldn't tell you what the original price of the remover was because it is no longer available on the website (sad, had I know this was a discontinuing sale I would have gotten more than one!), but I want to say it was originally $18.
It's a purple gel like formula. It has an amazing scent to it. I wish all of my makeup removers smelled this awesome!

Now on to the real reason I made this purchase... the 10 Loose Pigments!!!!
They even look pretty in their little packaging!
The downfall to these pigments, the container they are in is a huge pain in the ass! But the colors are so worth it!

The more neutral of the 10 pigments (this picture was taken with the flash) From L to R: X, Shag, Smog, and Gunmetal

The brighter of the pigments  (this picture was taken with the flash) From L to R: Graffiti, Protest, Rockstar, Asphyxia,Shattered, and Goddess

I also picked up a few extra pigments to throw in a giveaway bin, for when I finally do one.

Along with the order I was sent a sample of the primer potion duo.  SWEET!

Including shipping, I got all of this and the extra pigments for $22!!!! That is so awesome for Urban Decay AND for Pigments in general! I really scored on this order!

Have you ladies ever tried the Clean & Sober makeup remover or the pigments? Do you love them???

I got some goodies!!!!

So I posted a few weeks ago about how awesome my birthday was this years. Well Monday it got even more awesome. I got home from work, checked my mail, and noticed I had a nice little package from my good friend Kassandra.  Most of you already know who Kassandra is, she is the owner of Pretty Addictions Mineral Cosmetics and runs the Pretty Addictions Blog as well.  Kassandra and I have been friends for quite some time now, well before our makeup addictions started to grow. In fact, hers started first and then she sucked me!

Anyway, she sent me all kinds of goodies! Let's see what all I scored!

She actually took the time to wrap each item individually with tissue paper, I took everything out of the paper and then took the picture (obviously).

I don't know how she squeezed all of that stuff in to that small box, but she did, and I'm so glad!!!

I got a Burt's Bees Foot lotion and Foot creme, which I'm super excited about. Kassandra love this stuff.  My friend Blake won a Pretty Addictions giveaway and won these two items, she raves about them too! I'm so looking forward to trying these out!

She also included a little sample of Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream in the kit. I have never heard of this brand, but I'm definitely looking forward to trying it.

It's ok, you can be jealous of my LIMEADE LIPGLOSS!!! I love citrusy smells!
I think she may have gotten tired of hearing me talk about how much I wanted a Stippling brush... Since e.l.f. is so selective about what they do and do not sell in the stores I couldn't find one and I wasn't about to spend 3 dollars on the brush and then 6 dollars on shipping for one brush (I'm trying not to buy makeup for awhile). I'm super excited to have this brush! I used it yesterday and must say, so far I'm impressed!!! Thanks Kassandra!!!!
I don't know about you guys, but I know that I am OVER Wet n Wild and all of their limited edition stuff that you can NEVER find ANYWHERE.  Somehow, Kassandra managed to find this Everything Under the Sun bronzer and she was nice enough to think about me :)

Now... brace yourself... I nearly freaked out and screamed when I saw this item in the box. She had hosted a giveaway for this item on her blog and I was so bummed I didn't win it! The whole time though, Kassandra was sneaky and had one for me anyway! SCORE!!!

It is the Urban Decay's Preen Palette!!!! This palette includes 6 full size shadows (snatch, mildew, flash, painkiller, smog, toasted), a small bottle of the Primer Potion and a 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero.

I am seriously in love with EVERY color in this palette, I'm going to do a post on it soon! I'm also in LOVE with EVERYTHING in the box that Kassandra sent me. I am so thankful that I have so many amazing people in my life.   Thank you so much Kassandra for the pretties!!!

Pucker up with some Satin Lips!

I've been meaning to blog about this set for quite some time. It was high on my Christmas list and because I have such a wonderful mother, I actually what I wanted!!! If you aren't familiar with this item I highly suggest you make yourself familiar. We all know I do love me some Mary Kay skin care and this is just another Mary Kay item I adore.
this is the Satin Lips set.  This is a two item set. The first item is the Satin Lips Lip Mask and the second item is the Satin Lips Lip Balm.
According to Mary Kay, the lip mask:contains miniature buffing beads that gently exfoliate dead surface skin cells that cause lips to appear dull and lifeless.
To apply you take just a small sample of product and gentle begin to rub in to your lips, using an upward and outward motion. After the product has been evenly distributed you wait 1-2 minutes and then gently rise/wipe off.

after you have let your lips dry you then apply a coat of the lip balm.
The lip balm:
helps moisturize dry, rough lips. Clinical results show that a single application of Lip Balm moisturizes lips for at least six hours.

I try to use the lip mask once a week at least, If I plan on wearing a bold lip color I make sure to use the mask before application to remove the dead skin, that will inevitably become more noticeable once you have applied a bold lip color.  I try to apply the lip balm every evening before I go to bed.

I have to say my lips have never felt better. They tend to get chapped a whole lot less since I started using this product. If you buy either of these individually they retail at $9.50 each, if you purchase the set it is $18.00.  It is WELL worth it.

If you are interested in this product and don't have your own Beauty Consultant you are in luck, I happen to have one that I would love to share with you.

Have you ladies ever used either of these? do you love them as much as I do?

One 'n only Argan Oil

I've mentioned before that I decided to get rid of my purple hair and have since dyed my hair to a more "natural color." The process of getting my hair back to a "natural" color was a bit more than I had expected. I did a lot of reading prior to my first attempt. Anyway, it ended up taking to rounds of hair dye because the first time it left the parts where purple had been a very brassy color that was not the same color as the rest of my hair. Well after the second time I colored my hair to cover this up my hair started to feel horrible. When I was at Sally's the next time I purchased a Conditioner with Argan oil.  I had been hearing all kinds of awesome thing about Argan oil, how shiny and soft it makes you hair and etc.

The lady that was working suggested I try this. It is regularly $2.29, but that week they had it on sale for $0.99.  Out of this packet I got two uses of the stuff. The problem, It sucks!!!! My hair felt worse after using it that it did before. It also kind of smelled funny, like clay or something. I was not impressed. Thank goodness it was only $0.99!!
Have you ladies ever used this? Did you like it? Have you used any other Argan Oil products and have had good luck?

Lush!!!

First I'd like to thank my friend Kassandra over at Pretty Addictions for two things: 1.) introducing me to Lush, needless to say I'm in love with everything I've tried thus far. 2.) letting me in on their Head Case specials and convincing me to buy one!!!
Yesterday I had texted me roommate probably 10 times between 3 pm and 8 pm asking if my UPS package had arrived. Finally around 8 pm she responded with the good news that it had in fact arrived!!! YES!!!
When I opened the box I swear I felt like a little kid at Christmas. It was so exciting to me!
Let's see what I picked up, shall we?
I got the small container of the Mask of Magnaminty to try this out. I decided to try more of their skincare since I love the Angels on Bareskin so much.  The website states that the Mask of Magnaminty:
Makes dirt a distant memory.
China clay and bentonite gel will pull the dirt from your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds exfoliate surface skin cells, and peppermint oil will make you feel so fresh and minty that you'll forget you were ever grubby.

The 4.4oz container of this mask retails for 10.95. Which is a very very reasonable price for a mask. It doesn't smell as minty as I had expected, but you do get a little hint of mint when you take a big ole whiff of this stuff!

I also purchased the head case set in Protect & Nourish.  Most of the products in this set are geared towards those with unruly and curly hair, needless to say the set just spoke to me!
Inside the Head Case box are 4 products that are geared to Protect and Nourish your tresses.
The first item in the box is a Jasmin and Henna Fluff- Ease Hair Treatment.  This product was sent in a sample size of I believe 3.5 oz. This product is sold on the website for $21.95 for 7.8 oz.
According to the website:
If your hair is a little fluffy, frizzy, dry or out-of-control, this is the one for you. It's packed with copious amounts of moisturizing and nutrient-filled oils including organic jojoba, almond, brazil nut and extra virgin coconut oil. It works brilliantly on curly hair as well, as all the oils help define the curls and add loads of shine. The jasmine fragrance will stick with you for days after using it, so you'll have irresistibly soft, shiny and sexy smelling locks.

The second product R&B (Revive and Balance) Hair moisturizer was a 1.75 oz sample of the product. You can purchase a 3.5 oz container of the product for $20.95.
R&B Hair Moisturizer:
Smooth rhythms.
Enjoy some smooth R&B stylings. The tropical butters and candelilla wax will help to moisturize and control frizzy, flyaway hair, but this works to soothe dry scalps, too, with calming oat milk. And once you smell the orange blossom, your hair will truly get its groove back.
In addition to the two treatments the set also included a 1.8 oz container of Curly Wurly Shampoo.  A 7.8 oz container of this retails for $23.95.
Curly Wurly makes thick, unruly curls behave. It's packed full of nutritious creamed coconut and coconut oil, moisturizing vanilla, softening eggs and avocado butter to give moisture back to hair and eliminate frizz.

The last item in the set was a full size sample of Jungle Hair Conditioner. This is a solid conditioner (which is a concept that I am completely new to) that retails for $7.95.
Jungle feels different on your hair from liquid conditioner; until you wash it off, you hardly notice it's there. It smoothes and detangles, leaving a fruitily scented coat of shininess. Smooth it along the length of your hair from root to tip, then rinse out.

I won't bore you with all of the math for this Head Case set, instead I'll just say at 24.95 for the set this was a GREAT buy! You get to sample 3 products and get a FULL SIZE of a 4th product.  It's a hell of a deal! I can't wait to start trying this stuff out.
Included with the order came some samples.

A sample of two of their signature handmade soaps. I personally am a big fan of their soaps.  I was excited to get a sample of something I hadn't tried yet (Porridge), since I'm pretty well stocked up on Karma and Sexy Peel.
I initially had a whole bunch of stuff in my cart, and then Kassandra reminded me that they will be having their box sale after Christmas which is a perfect time to stock up on things since they are cheap. Needless to say I put quite a few items back. If you are interested take a peek and see what Kassandra got here!
Have you ladies ever tried any of these products? Have you ever tried Lush before? What do you think?

Mia Secret Crackle!!!

I had the most low-key do nothing weekend that I've had in a loooong time. Seriously. Anyway, yesterday I had the strong urge to paint my nails and do something different so I decided to use my Mia Secret crackle since I've only used it a few times. I had been on the hunt for the China Glaze Crackle for a long time and one day when I was getting a pedicure with my friend, Blake I found this brand at the nail salon. I gave in and purchased it because I was sick of looking for the China Glaze ones.

First I applied 2 coats of Wet 'n' Wilds Buffy the Violet Slayer polish on all of my nails (I thought I took a picture of the actual color, but I guess I failed to do so, here is an internet pic instead).
After the 2 coats of Buffy the Violet Slayer dried completely I then applied a very thin layer of the Mia Secret Crackle in Black on top of it (some of my nails cracked better than others, how dry the polish under is and how much of the crackle you apply largely affect what the crackle looks like.)
I paid $7.99 for this at the salon, it's a little bit pricier than the China Glaze crackles but I actually didn't mind paying the extra because I was so over looking for the China Glaze ones.
Here is what the finished product looks like
I like the color combo together. In case you can't tell I'm missing my purple hair so I'm trying to fill the void using purple in other places haha!!
How was your weekend ladies?

Purple because I can!!!

This morning I decided to do a purple eye look, mostly because now that I do not have BRIGHT purple hair, I can!! I caution you, when you look at these pictures to remember that my eyebrows are OUT of control.  I am trying to let them grow back in some so I can reshape them.  I decided a month or so ago I really didn't like the shape of my eyebrows so I am going to redo it :) Anyway, let's take a look!
I hadn't realized how out of control my eyebrows had gotten until I saw these pictures. Ugh, I'm sorry!!!

Here are the items I used for this look. Incase you haven't been able to notice yet, I really LOVE my Pretty Addictions eyeshadows!
For this look:
Pretty Addictions e/s "Pink Pearls"- used on lid
Pretty Addictions e/s "Purple Drank"- blended in to crease and slightly above
Pretty Addcitions e/s "Wicked"-blended in to outer "v"
Pretty Addictions e/s "Bubbly"- applied under brow bone and used to blend out harshlines
Pretty Addictions e/s "Uplifting"- used to line lower lashline
NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner "Extreme Black"- line upper lashline
Essence Black Mania Volume Express Mascara-2 coats to upper and lower lashes

I love this look, unfortunately it never looks as good on camera as it does in person. Oh well!

Coastal Scents

Almost a year ago I bought my first Coastal Scents Palette, I used it religiously the first few months and then I started getting so many other eyeshadows I started neglecting it.  In an effort to use all of my products more often I have been pulling out this palette a lot more often.
Here's the look, I really need to charge my actual camera to take these pictures, the iPhone camera just doesn't pick up the color as well.

This look is a very soft neutral eye look (my favorite)
I used shadows from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette.

For this look I first took the shimmery peach color on the far left marked with the arrow and patted that on to my lid, I then took the bottom shimmery copper brown color and blended that in to the crease on about 2/3 of the outer part of my eye.  I then took the top dark brown color and applied that to my "outer v" to add some dimension to the look. I then blended all three of the shades together heavily. And then used the upper shimmer nude color to highlight under my brow bone and blend out any harsh lines.
I applied a thin line of NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner in "Extreme Coffee" to my upper lash liner and then applied 2 coats of Essence Black Mania Carbon Black Volume Mascara.

What look are you ladies rocking today?

I may have an accessory buying problem...

This last weekend was Tax Free Weekend here in Tennessee so Friday after work Stefanie, Blake and I decided to go shopping after work. I needed to get some dress pants and dress shoes for a conference I am going to in September to present my research. While we were out doing our shopping we stopped in a store called Cato, it's kind of like a cross between the store Dots and Fashion Bug. They happened to have a bunch of their accessories on sale and since I couldn't find dress pants or dress shoes there I decided to go shopping in their accessories.

This is a necklace and earring set. It's a long necklace with some black and clear jewels hanging from it with matching earrings.  It was regularly $12.99 and it was on sale for $1.99.
This necklace is very similar to the one above, except it is made with brown and tan stones and doesn't have earrings.  This was originally $9.99 and was marked down to $2.99.
I saw this bracelet and I immediately fell in love with it! I bought it especially to wear out for my birthday celebration Saturday night. It was originally $7.99 and was marked down to $1.99. I went to put the bracelet on and the bottom row of beads snapped.  I was pissed.  It was on a stretchy cord but apparently it was made all ghetto fabulous.
This was probably my favorite accessory purchase from that day.  A grey hair flower with feathers. I love it.  It was only $3.99.  It also has a pin on it that way in case you want to pin it to a shirt or something you can do that too!

What did you ladies do this weekend? I had a fabulous time.  Friday, I went swimming with some friend after we went shopping then we cooked out. Saturday I went to lunch with a  few friends then went out for my birthday dinner with some friends and then partied the night away.  Sunday, which was my birthday I had brunch with my friends and then hung out for the rest of the evening.  It was an awesome weekend, I'm so lucky to have so many amazing people in my life.

CVS and Walgreens mini-haul!

My friend Kassandra over at  Pretty Addictions has recently been on a hunt for the Dream Weavers collection of trio shadows from Wet 'n' Wild.  Last night I thought I'd help her out and hit up some of our local drugstores to see if they had these items.  I managed to go to two Walgreens and one CVS. None of which had the Dream Weavers collection. I however, did find a few items for myself.

At CVS I happened to be looking at the Wet 'n' Wild trios and came across this awesome looking trio that I instantly fell in love with (I'm a sucker for browns, golds, and cream colored shadows). I was pretty sure this trio wasn't part of their normal trio sets (it was gold and it was the only one). Turns out it is part of their summer collection.  Anyway let's take a peek at it!

These swatches for taken with flash so you could see how truly pretty they are.  From L to R: Browbone color (shimmer nude tone), Crease (shimmer chocolate brown), Eyelid (shimmery gold).
I love this TRIO! best part... $2.99!

Also, I picked up this super awesome nail polish when I was at CVS.

The color is called Purple Reigns, the brand is Confetti and I think I have only seen it at CVS.  I hadn't painted my nails in forever so as soon as I got home I couldn't resist the urge to try this out.
I love this color! I had been looking for a color like this for awhile and the only one I could find like it was a Zoya polish, but this one was only $1.99!!!

At Walgreen the only thing I picked up was some shaving cream.  I have been hearing a lot of good things about the EOS shaving cream and I decided I needed to find it!
(sorry for the crappy picture)  I picked up the Pomegranate Raspberry scented one. The shaving cream came with a bonus Soleil razor (hence the random razor in the picture).  The shaving cream retails for $3.99 at Walgreen, but it was on sale for 2/$7.  I only purchased the one though in case I hated it.

I'm super excited for this weekend. My birthday is Sunday so Saturday night my friends and I are going to dinner and then are doing a bar crawl/bar golf event.  What do you ladies have planned?
