EOTD-Pretty Addictions Style

Hey everyone! First, let me apologize for my absence in blogging the last week or so.  I have been battling some personal issues and honestly blogging has been the farthest thing from my mind on most days.  I wasn't really planning on blogging today, but I figured I probably should.
I thought I'd share and Eye of the Day look with you all.  The pictures don't exactly due it justice, but really when do pictures?
I love this look! It's pretty neutral with just a pop of color!
I'm a big fan! Again the pictures don't really do it justice and please excuse the fact that my eyebrows need done in a big bad way!
Here are the products that I used!

Cherry Culture

In a post a back at the beginning of June (you can refresh yourself here) I posted about NYX Studio Liquid eyeliner that I bought at Ulta in Extreme Coffee.  I think that I have used that eyeliner almost every day since I bought it that weekend.  I love the color, I love the thin brush and I love how easily it glides on. I decided I wanted to pick it up in a few more colors to add some variety to my life. I unfortunately live in an area where the closest Ulta is almost 2 hours away and no other places around here sell NYX products so I resorted to looking online.  A friend of mine, Kassandra had told me about Cherry Culture a few months ago because they do sell NYX cosmetics.  I got on there and checked them out and noticed they were having a NYX sale! I instantly made the decision I was purchasing myself some more of these liners.  Because shipping was kind of costly I decided I might as well get the most out of the sale as I could. I ordered the stuff on Monday and it arrived here on Friday, not bad shipping!
Cleary they went all out on sending a nice and pretty package! (PS that rose it so cover my address :) ).
Oh Cherry Culture you really outdid yourself on the packaging!  I'm glad I spent 6 bucks on shipping!  Ok ok, I know I'm being whiny but I've been spoiled always ordering from Pretty Addictions I guess.  Oh well, at least I like bubble wrap!
I ordered 3 NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliners, 3 Lip pencils, 2 lipsticks and they included a bubble gum chapstick fo FREE!!!

In the NYX Studio Liquid Eyeliner I got, Extreme Black, Extreme Gold, Extreme Plum Purple and Extreme Blue (from top to bottom).  They usually sell for $4.50, but they were on sale for $3.75 each.

In the NYX lipliner I got Plush Red, Edge Pink and Hot Red (from top to bottom).  They retail for $3.50, but I got them for $1.75 each.

In the NYX round lipsticks I purchased Haute Contour and Haute Melon (from top to bottom).  They retail for $4.00 but I purchased them for $1.99 each.

Regularly this order would have cost $36.50 plus tax and shipping.  With discounts, tax, and shipping I paid 20.18!!!

Have you ladies purchased any good deals recently?

Just a little spending :)

While I was on vacation a few weeks ago the purse I had been carrying ripped, like not just a little bit. A lot!!! I was so mad. I got it from NY & Co. on a major discount.  Had a paid full price for it I would have been livid.  I paid 9 bucks for it when it was regularly 39.99 so I guess I can't complain too much.  Anyway, ever since I have been on a hunt for a new purse. It's funny, I swear every time I see Marie I'm on a hunt for a new bag.  After hunting through many stores here in Knoxville, we finally went to target.  I wanted something neutral and apparently it's really difficult to find neutral bags that aren't black or brown.

I love this bag! It's nice and roomy and it's a light grayish/khaki tan kind of color.  It also has a longer strap that is detachable that you can use to wear it as a cross body bag.  The purse was originally 34.99 but it was marked down to 20.98! I had to get it.  Aside from the fact that I really liked the purse I also didn't have the patience to look around anymore!
While I was target I took a stroll through the cosmetics section of course and picked up a few other items.
I picked up two Target brand makeup brushes and some E.L.F. tinted moisturizer.
I got the e.l.f. tinted moisture in the shade, nude.  I have used it everyday since I purchased it and I have to admit I love this tinted moisturizer.  I love the formula, it's almost like a whipped texture.  It glides on so smooth and it actually has pretty decent coverage, you also can't beat the price tag at $3!!!!

The two brushes I picked up were a smudge brush ($1.97) and a crease brush ($2.97).  Honestly I could take or leave these brushes.  The smudge brush is decent but the crease brush has too much give in it, so it's hard to work with.  But for the cheap price tags, I won't complain too much!!!

What do you ladies have planned for this weekend? Anything exciting?

Tag YOU are it!!!

I know this isn't one of my normal posts, but a bunch of blogs I follow have been doing this so I figured maybe it was time I do it myself!

1) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip-glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I would rather lose all of my eye shadows, I think.  I don't think I could function without mascara and eyeliner....

2) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I think I would rather chop all of my hair off then never be able to cut it again.  I don't want to be one of those old women with super long hair.  I think it looks ridiculous!  I could always wear a wig if i chopped all of my hair off, or the easier hat option.

3) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Definitely coral cheek!

4) If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I don't have much room for anymore clothes.  My apartment is limited on space! Could I do $500 on clothes and $500 on makeup?? responsible me wants to say clothes, since I have to grow up at some point and wear dress clothes.

5) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Who came up with this question? Seriously? I guess lipstick as eyeliner.  I couldn't imagine black lips lol

6) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Definitely Sephora... more of a variety!

7) Would you rather only use one eye shadow color or one lip color the rest of your life?
one lip color definitely.

8) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
um... summer clothes in the winter. I hate being hot!

9) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
dark nails!

10) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
favorite lip product!

11) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
messy bun!

12) Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip-gloss?
hmm, probably never paint your nails again... well that depends if this question is paint toe nails again, just fingernails or both.  If it's both or just toes I will def pick never use lip gloss again.  I can't stand not having my toenails painted!

13) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? Or sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie them I guess... Try to strut that chola look!

14) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
again that's a tough one... I don't think I could live without either!

Mary Kay Eyeshadow & Liner Duos!!!

I have mentioned before that one of my good friends is a consultant for Mary Kay, this means whenever new products come out I get to see them A.S.A.P.  I admit I only have a few of their eye shadows because I do prefer more pigmented shadows, I love their eyeliner, face products and skin care though.  Anyway that's not what this post is about.
On Sunday some of the girls and I went over to our friend's for dinner and afterwards we got to preview the limited edition Mary Kay products.  I could resist taking pictures to show you guys, I think these products are AWESOME!

They are Shadow and Line eye duo.  They have 5 different options and they are advertised on the website as follows:
This eye shadow/eyeliner in one is a simple stroke of genius! Being on-trend is a breeze with these 2-in-1 retractable pencils. Bali Blue is one of four creamy colors paired by Mary Kay® expert makeup artists, making it easy to get a fashion-forward look. Get one of each while they last!

Let's Take a peak at the actual colors :)

Swatches (without flash): Bali Blue Cream Eyeshadow with Brown Eyeliner (top), Soft Jade Cream Eyeshadow with Green Eyeliner (bottom left),  Frosted Fig Cream Eyeshadow with Purple Eyeliner (bottom middle), and Brushed Copper Cream Eyeshadow with Dark Brown Eyeliner (bottom right).

Swatches (with flash): Bali Blue Cream Eyeshadow with Brown Eyeliner (top), Soft Jade Cream Eyeshadow with Green Eyeliner (bottom left),  Frosted Fig Cream Eyeshadow with Purple Eyeliner (bottom middle), and Brushed Copper Cream Eyeshadow with Dark Brown Eyeliner (bottom right).

I am absolutely in love with the Soft Jade, Frosted Fig and Brushed Copper duo.  I think they are all so pretty.  They all glide on super smooth and are REALLY pigmented.

To test the "durability" of the shadows I washed my hands with soap and water.  Check out what it looked like after!
The cream eye shadows look practically the same!!! The eyeliners did wipe off a little bit, but that's an easy fix.  I am so impressed with these.
I think the colors are absolutely beautiful and I love the eyeliner.  They glide on so smooth!  The retail on these are $16 a piece.  I think for a shadow AND an eyeliner that is so worth it!!!

After we left my our Mary Kay swatching party we went home and hung out.  One of my best friends from college came down to visit this weekend.  Whenever she comes down we end up going to the Dollar Tree and buy some of the most random things.  This time we bought kits to make bead layouts.  I don't know how to explain what I'm thinking but you get a plastic board with a pre-laid out design.  You put the beads on it and then use an iron to melt them together.

Marie working very hard on her butterfly! It was so fun, but we decided that we have no idea how we had so much patience as a child to make these so often!
Mine is the flower and Marie's is the butterfly.  We decided to put magnets on the back of them to put them on our refrigerators.  Then we switched and kept the opposite one.  So I kept her butterfly and she took my flower :)  All in all I had a fantastic weekend and have to admit that good friends make everything better!!!

"I make families. What is your super power?"

I have mentioned before in a post long ago a story involving a family member of mine.  I thought it would be truly special to share with all of you this beautiful story. I chose to share this story with my readers because it a story that truly moves me and inspires me.
Meet my 2nd cousin Merideth, her husband Chris and their three children Anthony, Matthew, and Gary.  Initially you probably look at this picture and think, "Oh what a cute, little hockey loving family!" What you don't see in this picture is how truly giving, unique, and wonderful this family really is. Back in the day when our family had routine family reunions before the passing of my favorite uncle, Junior and his wife Vera (who were Merideth's grandparents) Merideth's son Anthony was my little buddy.  We used to sit at a picnic table at the park and just chat away for hours.  Man, he could come up with stories, but then again what 5 year old can't?
So I bet you are wondering why am I talking about Merideth and her family and why are they such a wonderful family unit?  Well that's because Merideth and her family made a decision in 2010 to do something completely selfless for another couple that will impact the lives of everyone around them forever.
In 2004, Merideth's Mom and her significant other, Wayne began building a house.  Next to them another couple Greg and Eric were building a house as well.  In 2005, both couples moved in to their new neighborhood. Shortly after moving in to their new home Greg and Eric took the trip next door to introduce themselves to their new neighbors, when this took place Merideth was present.  It didn't take Merideth long to pick up on the fact that Greg and Eric were in a relationship. She quickly revealed this to her Mom and her boyfriend, Wayne. From there a  friendship quickly formed between the five of them. Greg and Eric would often talk about how they wanted to raise children and jokingly would make remarks about borrowing Merideth's uterus to do so.  Merideth's children Anthony, Matthew, and Gary love Greg and Eric very much and Merideth says they have been like Uncles to her boys.  After seeing the way that Greg and Eric were with her own children Merideth began to toss around the idea of actually letting them "use her uterus." She mentioned the idea to her mother who was worried for Merideth's health and for her children and husband.  She also mentioned the idea to Wayne, who over time had grown to be very accepting of Greg and Eric but still did not think that they should raise children as a couple. After these discussions Merideth put the thought of doing this for Greg and Eric in to the back of her head until November of 2009 when Wayne passed away.
In January of 2010 she decided for sure to let Greg and Eric know she was willing to be let them "use her uterus." Initially their plan was to use Merideth's eggs and use either Greg or Eric's sperms.  At this time the lengthy process began.  Greg and Eric contacted a lawyer to start the process of battling all of the legal issues.  Through all of this they discovered that according to Ohio law because she was the egg donor and would be the birth mother of the child she would have to be on the birth certificate until she was proven unfit.  Doing this would have jeopardized her own children. So the new task became finding an egg donor.
Finally in June of 2010 all of the screening and testing took place.  Greg's sister volunteered to donate her eggs and Eric's sperm were tested and passed.  However, there ended up being an issue with Greg's sisters eggs and their age.  Merideth and Greg's sister then had to get on the same cycle by taking medication.  Everyday until the transfer Merideth was taking medication orally and intravenously.  Finally! in December of 2010 eggs were retrieved!
Above are "the goods" as Merideth refers to them.  On December 11, 2010 they transferred 3 eggs to Merideth.  The chances of one "good" egg sticking was around 50%, getting 2 more to stick was less than 20%.  Merideth, Greg, and Eric had all agreed that if for some reason all 3 eggs happened to take there would be a selective reduction to ensure the health of Merideth and the other eggs.
On December 22nd Merideth had her first round of blood work done, at this time she had already taken 3 home tests that came up positive, her HCG levels were so high they confirmed that she was carrying multiples!!! On January 6th she had her first ultrasound that showed she was carrying twins!
On January 24th she began her routine visits with her fertility doctor, her ob and of course numerous ultra sounds.  Finally in February she graduated from the fertility clinic and was released to her OB.
In her first month of pregnancy she gained 60 pounds but other than that everything in the pregnancy was smooth sailing!  Well except for dealing with the weight gain, massive amounts of swelling and loosing the support of several family members.
Baby A and Baby B are due August 31st and currently Merideth is going weekly to her OB.  Currently Baby A is head down and Baby B is breach, which means she SHOULD be able to deliver both babies vaginally.
Greg and Eric couldn't be happier to know that they will soon be the fathers of twin boys!!! Merideth says, "These babies will be loved by so many people!"

Now let's talk about the other side of things.  The toll this has taken on Merideth, Chris, Anthony, Gary, and Matthew.  Merideth wrote me in a message and said, "I have had a hard time and my family has. Its been hard on my boys! They have not been able to do much this summer due to the fact that I have days where I cannot get off the couch. Or I am too tired to do anything. The heat has me housebound most days anyways. My husband has had to do stuff he never imagined he would have too, we all have. I am not sure anyone can be fully aware of what it takes to be a surrogate. I cannot imagine how some women do this as their job. I do know a lady that is on her 3rd surrogacy. I would imagine if you are making over $50,000.00 it might be a little easier to deal with."
Greg and Eric have been there as much as they can for her every step of the way, but they obviously cannot be there for her and her family 24/7.
She says that everyone always asks her, "Won't you want to keep the babies?"  Her response is, " NO! I have never been a sensitive pregnant person. Like ooo look at my belly, aww talk to it...etc. Nope that's not me. Granted I do take care of the babies inside but for me attachment comes once they are out! Once they are real. That's how it was with my children. Let me bond with them when we are home. We have planned on me being Aunt Merideth or whatever roll I choose to fill. I will not be there for them to help parent! They know that is their job and their help needs to come from their families and friends."
I asked her how her children are handling this whole idea and she says, "I laugh thinking of a parent teacher conference with Matthew's teachers. They asked me about having babies and why I would give them up, was there something wrong with the babies. It took me a minute to think about how a child might portray this. I had to inform the teachers that I was a surrogate, that the babies are not mine that I was not getting pregnant just to give them up. The boys have been good about learning and asking questions since then. They probably have learned and seen more than they should. They think its great that Greg and Eric are going to have babies. They understand that they are not getting more brothers! They think its great!! Their only downfall is not being able to do and go places like “normal” kids do in the summer. They have learned that if I need a nap, I really need a nap. That if I do yell, that I am sorry!"
Perhaps the hardest one to adjust other than Merideth herself is her husband, Chris. She says, "Well he knows how moody I can be. He knows how stressful this has been and has been great. He has given up coming home to a clean house. He knows that the only way the floors are going to be cleaned is for him to do it. He has had to adjust to a lot. They all have. We just have to keep thinking that its almost over and what we are doing is a wonderful thing! That is how we are getting through!"

Meet the proud fathers Greg (left) and Eric (right) with of course Merideth in the middle.  In case you are wondering her shirt is awesome and is available from Cafe Press!

I personally am so proud to know that their are people in this world that can recognize a loving couple who deserve the right to raise a child or children.  I'm also crazy proud to know that someone I personally know is willing to so selflessly give two people the chance to raise their own children.

Renpure Organics

A few weeks ago while I was at Kroger grocery shopping I decided to make a trip down the health and beauty aisle.  I know, I know big shock right?  Well anyway I happened to find this shampoo and conditioner at one heck of a deal so I thought I would give it a try.

The last thing I really need is some volume in my hair but I liked the Organic label and wanted to give it a shot.
Why are Organic hair products good for you?  According to Renpure:

Better for the enviroment

It's a basic fact that the more you process and alter a substance, the more energy you waste and pollution you produce. This is one of the big benefits of organic hair care products. Because the ingredients forgo chemicals and stick with nature, they simply create less damage to the environment. They also tend to be better for washing down the drain, more biodegradable in landfills and safer for animals on either water or land.

Better for personal health

By skipping harsh chemicals, organic hair products are simply better for your body. Every single thing you rub into your skin or coat your hair with goes into your body. Even hair conditioner can rub off on your skin and leave a residue. Good or bad, this chemical-laden residue is processed by the body. The overall effects of this chemical build-up in our bodies are what cause potential medical issues.

Better for hair health

Whatever product you use on your hair will effect your hair, obviously. This is not only true is the short term, but in the long term as well. Though the newest chemical-ridden hair product may produce shine or curl in the short term, regular use usually causes long term damage. However, organic hair products avoid harsh elements, gradually nourishing your hair to its healthiest state. That healthy hair look comes from actual healthy hair.

Reduces Chemical Exposure

Conspiracy theory.... ? Not really. It's more like trying to make a buck without any concern for the well being of the average consumer. That's been the mind set of many companies out there selling personal care products still today. It sickens us... literally. So we as a family have decided to do something about it. We've developed a new line of hair care products FREE from potentially harmful ingredients such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Parabens, DEA, TEA, colors and dyes. We've been in this industry for a long time and we’ve made some pretty important changes. It is our hope that you will take the time to learn more about this and make a conscious decision to reduce your exposure and your family's exposure to synthetic chemicals.
The label on the front of the shampoo and conditioner read the same thing.  I could get a better focused image of the conditioner bottle so that's the one I am posting.  As you can see the product claims to be made with 100% certified organic extracts.  There are also NO sulfates, parabens, color or dyes in the product! They also do not test their products on animals. That last two lines are what ultimately sold me on the decision to purchase these products.  I have been on a search for a sulfate free shampoo that I really like and that doesn't break the bank.

I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks now and I have to say I don't love the products.  I don't hate them either.  I just notice no drastic difference in my hair, which is fine I'd rather no change than a change for the worse (like greasy hair).  I love the smell of them.  It's a very crisp, clean, almost citrusy smell.
Overall, I do like the product somewhat.  Would I repurchase again?  Only if the product was marked down like it was this time.  The price tag on these are $6.99 a piece.  Kroger had them marked down to $2.09.  If I could buy them again for that price I'd probably strongly consider it, but at $6.99, the product just didn't wow me enough.

Have you ladies ever tried Renpure products?  What did you think?

Time to chill?

Randomly, a few months ago I started receiving issues of Vogue in the mail.  I'm not sure how I got signed up for it, but I know I haven't paid for it.  I had just been reading the covers.  If nothing interested me I would sit the magazine aside.  Last night I started actually reading the magazines and I came across an article, "Time to Chill?" the article covers breakthroughs in egg-freezing technologies, the pros, the cons, and one woman's personal account of her journey through the process.
I'm always interested in articles like this because having children is something I do want in my future.  I am about to turn 27 and I won't lie due to my single status alternative ways to having children is something that definitely crosses my mind from time to time.
This new technology will allow for women to cryogenically freeze their eggs in order to use them at a later date.  In essence it's a way of beating that biological ticking clock.  The woman who the article gives a first hand account of her experience uses the phrase, "I am freeing myself from the tyranny of the expiration date."  I love that phrase!  The ultimate feminist fantasy!
The article offers a few statistics, "Many young women blithely believe they can wait until their 40s to have kids, but that is wishful thinking.  At age 40, more than half will not be able to conceive without help, and by 44, even with IVF that number plummets below 5 percent."
Anyway on to the actual procedure.  The first step is injecting tiny vials of hormones every morning.  During this time the patient visits the doctor every morning for blood work that is used to monitor how she is responding to the medication.  12 days after the start of the regimen if hormone levels look good there is an ultrasound to detect how many follicles are developing eggs within them, if there is enough (usually b/w 10-18) the patient is put under anesthesia and the oocytes are removed for freezing.
It is believed that the oocytes are good frozen for up to 10 years.  This definitely opens up a huge window for beating your own biological clock.
What are the pros of this kind of procedure?  It allows for single women to still fulfill their lifelong dream of mothering a child, it takes away the beat your biological clock aspect, it is an alternative to IVF, and it less costly than IVF.
The downfalls, as of yet there are no detectable problems with the children created from this procedure.  however the procedure is fairly new so all of the offspring from this procedure are still young.  the procedure does cost $15,000 per round, often women have to do at least 2 rounds, sometimes more.

Prior to 2007 there were only a handful of live births as a result of frozen eggs, to date there are more than 1500 worldwide.

What do you ladies think of this alternative to IVF?

Addicted to Pretty Addictions!!!

A few weeks ago Pretty Addictions was running a 40% off sale.  I couldn't pass it up!!! I had been eyeballing the blushes for quite some time so I had to take advantage of this sale! Let's see what I got!
I ordered my goodies right before I left for vacation so it was sheer torture having to wait until I got back to see all of my pretties!!!
Let's unwrap all of the goodies and see what I purchased!

When I first went to the website the first things I threw in my cart were some of the new blushes!
I decided on these:

The blushes are in the most adorable containers.  They come in 20 gram jars with sifters so you don't have to worry about taking off the lid and dumping the whole container of blush!
Seriously how cute is that container?? A pretty pink lid AND animal print... um yes please!!!
I know that swatch isn't the best but The Big "O" is a coral color with more of an orange tint and a hint of golden shimmer!  I am in LOVE with this blush!!!
Wild Thang is a HOT pink blush.  It looks similar to Hard Candy's Living Doll, but I personally think it's 100 times prettier!  I also really like that it doesn't have as much shimmer as Living Doll.

Since Pretty Addictions is such an awesome company I also was sent a sample size of their blush French Kiss.  I debated purchasing it when I placed my order, but I just didn't think I would wear it.  UM WRONG!!! I love this blush too! It's definitely not a color I would typically purchase but I was pleasantly surprised!
Swatches of all three blushes with flash.  From top: The Big "O", French Kiss, and Wild Thang.
Swatches in natural light.  From top: French Kiss, Wild Thang, and The Big "O".

I've placed several orders with Pretty Addictions and I always forget to get a jar of Mudslide Ride, I've been using the sample sparingly.  I absolutely love this color and I am stoked I finally remembered to get it!
Isn't that such a pretty brown color?

I also had to finally pick up some of the frosted hair flowers.  I decided to get smaller ones because I wasn't sure I could pull off a big flower in my hair.

The top one is Lil Layla Purple and the bottom flower is Aubrey.  They are adorable!

Now let's talk about the price tag... I was so stoked about that!

The Blushes retail for $8 for a 20 g jar, but when I purchased them they were on sale for $7.25
A 5g jar of Mudslide Ride retails for $3
Lil Layla Purple retails for $2.50
Aubrey retails for $2.50

Subtotal:  $22.50
Discount: $9.00
Total: $13.50
Total + Shipping: $18.50

How awesome of a deal is that??? If you seriously have not tried Pretty Addictions get your ass over there and order something!!! You won't regret it!

My makeup pet peeves!

I thought I'd do something different for my blog today.  Apparently these are things I say to friends at times and finally a friend of mine, Blake said to me the other day, "will you please do a whole blog on this stuff?" I thought hey why not!
So today I bring to you my  makeup pet peeves!  I am by no means saying that I am perfect at doing makeup, because let's face it I am not, but we all have things we see people doing that we are like, "OMG, what was she thinking?"

My first pet peeve is clumpy mascara!  It seriously drives me nuts! If I have eyelashes sticking together I will seriously take my eye makeup off and start all over.  I think it looks cheap, trashy and ridiculous!

Pet peeve # 2 is overdrawn or done lips!  It really drives me nuts to see women over do their natural lip line. We all know what I'm talking about, ya know when women try to make their lips looks bigger and as a result it just looks trashy.  Use some lip plumper if you are seriously that worried about the size of your lips, don't draw outside your natural lip line grr!

I totally understand that some women naturally have thin eyebrows and do need to fill in their eyebrows, however there is a HUGE difference b/w filling in your eyebrows and completely drawing on your eyebrows!

Another thing that seriously bothers me is when women can't seem to get their eyeliner on their lash line.  Ya know when there is that awkward gap between their lash line and their eyeliner.  It just looks silly.

I will admit I use lip liner.  However, I use lip liner more as a base or sometimes i fill in the whole lip and put a lip gloss on top of it.  I definitely do not line my entire lip and not blend it.  When I see women doing this I just want to smack the crap out of them!!!

We all have friends who do this next one and I know it drives all of you equally as nuts as it does me.  I hate when people do not blend their foundation on to their neck.  especially when their foundation is not the same color as your natural neck color.  So you end up seeing this harsh ugly line! ( I found this picture and it was too funny not to use!)
I am not a big fan of wearing bronzer, however I am aware that a) you are not supposed to wear bronzer all of your damn face and b) there is such a thing as WAY too much bronzer, however some women are not!
Seriously? What the hell was she thinking?

Also, I mean how hard is it to use a blending brush and blend out the harsh lines of your eyeshadow so you don't look insane?  I do it everyday, I know it isn't that hard!

I've also noticed an increasing trend in the whole wearing lighter concealer under your eyes, I just can't understand why.... it doesn't make you look any better, in fact it looks like you have raccoon eyes!

My last pet peeve, is mostly just for myself. I don't really mind it on other people but I really hate it when I do it for myself.  I hate when I don't properly think out what I am going to wear for the day and I end up having an eyeshadow look that matches my outfit!  Gah it just drives me insane and makes me sad ALL day!

My last comment is completely random but I had to share it because I saw so many women doing it while I was at the beach... Why do people wear shoes that are too small for their feet?  I mean seriously!!! A) It's not comfortable and B) you look absolutely ridiculous!!!!
Seriously do all of us a favor and do yourself one too, buy some damn shoes that fit!!!!

What are your pet peeves ladies?

Ah the beach!

So we all know I spent last week at the beach, right?  Well I thought today I would do a quick post, sharing some of my trip.  First of all, it was absolutely amazing.  It had been so long since I had been able to take time away and literally not have every second planned of my "vacation".  Most of my time off includes driving home and spending time with my family, which means it's rush rush rush.  I love going home and I really don't mind all of the rushing, but it was definitely nice having absolutely no expectations for 6 days.  The even better part was i got to spend the week with some of my closest friends from high school.  There were 7 of us that went on the trip and ALL of us went to high school together.  It's interesting how it all came together.  My friends Kim, Chris, and Becky who have all been my friends for 13 plus years went, then Becky  is married to Dustin who we went to high school with and is a few years older than us, and then his best friend, Mike, who we also went to school with came as well and then Becky's older sister Sara who we've gotten to be super close with as well.

The road trip there was interesting, I won't lie. Most of us hadn't slept in nearly a day so the angry level was turned up rather high haha!!! Anyway we made it to our destination around 4 pm on Saturday and immediately changed and went to lay around at the pool.  We then had a delicious fresh seafood dinner.
Sunday we all woke up, had breakfast and headed to beach #1!!!

This was Cherry Grove Beach.  The sand was crazy hot but it was beautiful as you can tell.  The waves at this beach were pretty intense so being in the ocean was only enjoyable for small increments of time. After we left the beach we decided to go shower and have a home cooked family meal.

Monday morning the 7 of us got ready and hit up beach #2

This is Sunset Beach.  It was beautiful!!! I'm pretty sure that this beach was my favorite.  It wasn't super crowded, we got lucky and sat next to a group of younger 20 somethings and had music to listen to.  The waves were also a lot less intense.  That evening we had another home cooked family meal and then Kim, Becky, Sara, Chris and I headed down to main myrtle to spend the evening.

Sara had rented an ocean front room for us to enjoy for the evening and so we were closer tot he bar scene.  We all got ready and went out that night! We had an absolutely amazing time.  I'm now a lifetime member to one of the bars there. When we got home from the bars around 3:30 am we decided we were going to take advantage of being right on the ocean and went and walked along the beach and played in the water.  It was amazing.  Probably not the safest time for the 5 of us to do that but ya know.

Even with a hangover on Tuesday morning it was nice to wake up to the sound of the ocean, open the door 10 feet from your bed and see THIS!!!

some of us spent that day on the beach while others went and did a little beach shopping.  Another FANTASTIC day!!! I wasn't nearly as excited about Myrtle beach b/c it was so crowded, however it was awesome to be able to wake up to the beach!
On Wednesday Dustin, Becky, and Mike wanted to go para sailing so Kim and I dropped them off and walked Ocean City beach later in the day and looked for seashells and enjoyed the water.  Very relaxing.

On our final day there I was very adamant about going to the beach.  While we had a pool at our condo, I just couldn't pass up one last time at the beach.  I was all prepared to go to the beach and spend the day relaxing by myself  (Chris and Sara wanted to nap; Becky, Kim, Dustin, and Mike wanted to go to the pool).  As I was leaving Sara and Chris decided to come along!
I know this looks like the first beach I showed but I promise you it is not.  This is Ocean Isle Beach, we actually picked this spot b/c we all wanted a picture with the pier in it again.  This beach is what everyone calls the shelly beach.  There are lots and lots of shells everywhere!!! The waves were absolutely perfect and it was nice and quiet!

That evening we packed up and began the trip back home.  It was a very rough ending for all of us.  We were all incredibly bummed out.  I got home about 2 am Friday morning and they continued their trip back to Ohio.
Most of us have talked everyday since, all of us have been in a tad of a funk b/c we miss each other so much, but I'll be making a trip to Ohio soon, I hope.

That was my summer vacation!!! What do you guys have planned for the summer?
